Removing the tail light

Remove the seat	E 3, Removing the seat

Loosen the screw (16) and remove the cover (15).

Collect the washer (17).

Loosen screws (10) securing the tail light mount (11) to frame, slightly raise it and disconnect the tail light wiring (A) (Sect. P 1, Arrangement of wiring on frame).

Loosen the screw (5) and separate the light (1) from its mount (11).

Refitting the tail light

If vibration dampers (2) were removed, fit them again starting screws (3) with washers (4) into their threads.

Reassembly is a reversal of the removal procedure: tighten screws (5), (10) and (16) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).

Removing the number plate holder

Loosen the screws (19) securing the number plate holder mounting bracket (18) to silencers and keep the washers (20).

Disconnect the number plate light and rear turn indicators connectors from main wiring harness (Sect. P 1, Arrangement of wiring on frame) and remove the complete number plate holder unit.

In the USA version plate (26) is different and features a bracket with side cat's eyes (B).

Refitting the number plate holder

Reassembly is a reversal of the removal procedure: tighten screws (19) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).
