Refitting the oil cooler
Note
Lubricate the threads of pipe fittings (5) and (6) and their O-rings (9) with engine oil.
Fit the vibration dampers (2) to the horizontal head and tighten them to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).
Install gasket (8) onto nipple (7).
Gasket should be fitted on the nipple side having the smaller thread and should be set with the sharp edge facing the cooler.
Smear nipple thread (7) with threadlocker.
Start nipple (7) with seal (8) in the delivery hole or return hole and tighten to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings) holding cooler hexagon fastener.
Position the oil cooler (1) to the vibration dampers (2) and secure it in place using the spacers (3) and the screws (4).
Tighten the oil cooler retaining screws (4) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).
Insert the end of the unions (A) and (C) into the nipples. Screw in the union nuts manually until fully home.
Check that the hoses are in the correct positions and tighten the unions (A) and (C) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).
Insert the lines (5) into the cable guides (12) and (13).
If thermistor (11) was removed, fit seal (10) on thermistor, sharp edge must be facing the cooler.
Apply the specified sealant to the thermistor thread (11) and tighten thermistor to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).
Reconnect the connector (B) to thermistor (11).
