Removing the frame and related components
Before performing the frame dimensional checks, you will need to remove a number of components to give all-round access to the frame. See the specific instructions in the relevant sections.
The subframe (2) is part of the frame structure (1).
The subframe (2) supports some of the vehicle outer structures and must be in perfect condition.
Removing the rear subframe
Disconnect all electric connections (Sect. P 1, Arrangement of wiring on frame) and remove the silencer (Sect. L 8, Removing the exhaust system).
Remove the seals (15) and rubber spacers (7) from special screws (3).
Unscrew the screws (3) and (5) securing the rear subframe (2) to the frame (1).
Separate the rear subframe (3) from the frame.

Checking the frame
Check the dimensions of the frame against those indicated here to determine whether frame needs realigning or changing.
