Removing the footpegs
The following removal operations are similar for the right and left footpegs.
To remove the right footpeg plates, loosen the screws (16) and remove the rear right footpeg plate (28).
Loosen screws (B) and remove the rear brake master cylinder (A): slide out cylinder (A) from rod (C).
Disconnect the rear brake sensor (D).
For removing the left footpeg plates, loosen the screw (E) securing the gearchange control (F) to the engine and leave the gearbox unit connected to the plate.
Unscrew the two screws (3) securing the plate to the frame.
Loosen the two screws (13), screw (19) and screw (21) securing the plates to crankcases. Collect washers (2) and washer (22). Unscrew the screws (16) and remove the plate (27) from plate (18).
To separate the rear footpegs (25) and (26) from the mounting plates (27) and (28), remove the snap ring (5), and remove pin (4) thus releasing the footpegs, the plates (10), balls (9) and springs (12).
To disassemble front footpegs (20) and (7), detach them from plates (18) and (8).
Remove circlip (5) and slide out pin (4) to release footpegs and spring (6).
Undo screws (31) and separate footpeg covers (29) from footpegs; keep plates (30) and bushings (32).
Unscrew the screws (24) and remove the sprocket cover (23).
Unscrew the screws (15) and remove the protections (14) and (17).
Note
It is possible to remove the footpegs, the protections and front sprocket cover even when footpeg plates are installed to the vehicle.
Refitting the footpegs
The following reassembly operations are similar for the plates on either side of the vehicle.
Refit protections (17) and (14), tighten screws (15) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).
Refit the front sprocket cover (23) and tighten the screws (24) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).
For front footpegs (20) and (7) , position bushings (32) and plates (30) , fit footpegs covers (29) onto footpegs, and tighten screws (31) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).
Fit spring (6) onto footpegs, as shown in the figure.
Insert spring end in plate hole.
Grease the pin (4).
Fit the pin (4) from the top end. Fit the snap ring (5) at the other end to hold the pin in place.
Fit the spring (12) to the rear footpegs (26) and (25) as shown.
Fit balls (9) onto spring. Fit plates (10) on the footpegs as shown.
Note
Countersinking (L) on plate holes must be facing the footpeg.

Press on plates to ensure footpeg is engaged, with spring and ball, into rear plates (28) and (27).
Grease the pin (4).
Insert pin as shown and lock the pin with the snap ring (5).
Check vibration dampers (1) and (11) located on plates (8) and (18) for wear.
If they need replacement, refit vibration dampers (1) and position them as shown.
Fit plates (8) and (18) at the retaining points on crankcase with washers (2) and (22).
Apply recommended grease on screws (3).
Tighten the screws (13), (19) and (21) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).
Tighten the frame retaining screws (3) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).
Connect the rear brake sensor (D).
Fasten gear change control to crankcase, apply threadlocker and tighten screw (E) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).
Grease rear brake master cylinder rod end (C) and fit it into brake cylinder (A).
Fit the master cylinder, tighten the screws (B) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings)
Refit plate (27) to plate (18), tighten the screws (16) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).
Fit rear right footpeg plate (28) to plate (8), tighten the screws (16) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque settings).
